Scarlett tied her hair back into a ponytail and walked through the cardiology ward, looking determined. She needed to track down a Dr. Altman to let her know she’d be performing a few surgeries there, since she was just given privileges at the hospital, but goodness, he was hard to track down. Or was it a she? The Chief hadn’t really told her what Dr. Altman was, so Scarlett wasn’t even sure what she was looking for.
She huffed a bit at that, and bumped straight into someone, “Sorry, I wasn’t looking where I was going.. Could you tell me where I could find Dr. Altman?”
“You’ve found her,” Teddy said, surprised. Who was this stranger, and why was she asking after her? Because her workload hadn’t been merciful as of late, Teddy was a bit shorter with the woman than she would have been had she had the time for formalities. “I’m sorry, may I ask who you are? I don’t think we’ve met.”
The girl seemed a little too young and pretty to be a doctor, Teddy thought — although, that white lab coat did beg to differ. “I’m Dr. Teddy Altman, Head of Cardiology. I’d shake your hand, but…” Teddy smiled, juggling the charts in her arms with an air of long-suffering.
“Ah yes, Owen can keep ulterior motives quiet when he wants to. It’s his fatal flaw, in my opinion,” Scarlett chuckled...
