Jake walked over with his first aid kit that he kept at home and very carefully, expecting her to lash out or something, Jake led her to sit on the couch, “Teddy? Can you tell me where it hurts most on your body?” He asked quietly.
Jake took out what he thought he might need from the medical bag as he waited for her to answer.
“Right here,” she whimpered, placing a hand against her side. She couldn’t even touch it without the tears falling; even Teddy, someone who rarely cried from any kind of physical pain, was crying now… but she couldn’t be sure if she was crying from the blistering ache in her side or the betrayal. When she closed her eyes, she could still see the look on his face — the look that told her he wanted to hurt her.
