These Dreams Of Mine || Teddy and Henry

the-henry-burton:

Henry’s hand moved to hers squeezing it tightly locking eyes with her. “I’m going to go get you water.” He moved off the bed quickly and into the kitchen pouring a cold glass of water before moving back into the bedroom, sitting at the end of the bed and handing the water to her. “It’s ok Teddy, You don’t have to tell me ever. You just have to know I’m alway here for you to tell.”

It was a struggle not to cry out for him to stay, for Teddy still feared the ghosts that plagued her as soon as Henry wasn’t there to chase them away. As it was, her eyes never shut once until he returned — as brave as she thought she was, it wasn’t enough. It never was.

Hearing the door open, her tearful gaze shifted from the blank wall to her husband’s sweet, open face; locking eyes with him gratefully, it was all she could do in that moment to just wrap her arms around his neck, wanting nothing more than to be held as though she were a child again.

“I don’t know want I’d do without you,” Teddy confessed. “I’m a wreck. I don’t know I did to ever deserve you.”
