Want more meds?” Charlotte asked softly. She reached out and carefully wiped Teddy’s face and then gave her friend a soft smile.
“I’m fine…” Teddy cried softly, turning away from Charlotte. “Don’t you dare touch me.” The medication seemed to have drained all the fight out of her, though Teddy couldn’t be sure that it wasn’t just the defeat. Because that was it — Teddy felt defeated. Nothing else could beat a person down more than a betrayal, especially from one who had once loved her. Unless — unless Henry had never loved her at all.
