Her eyes widened at the sight of her best friend broken down.
She knew that she didn’t ask for it, but she could see that she
needed it, she walked up at her and wrapped her arms around
the other woman. Her best friend had been through so much
lately and she could see that she was on the verge of tears.“I’m here, Teddy.” She gently rubbed the taller woman’s back,
as she let out a deep sigh. “You may not have an awesome
love life anymore but you have me.” She promised her, but
she knew she couldn’t promise that she would always be
there for her because life and accidents happened all the
time, especially for them.
“Arizona, don’t,” Teddy cried breathlessly. “I’m fine. I’ll
get
over it.” Of course she wouldn’t. Losing the love of her
life wasn’t something she could get over with a smile and
a few good days — no, it was as though her happiness
had a limit now. She would never again be as happy as
she’d been when she had Henry, and the
dark days would
only get darker because of it.

The truth was, what Teddy craved more than anything was
the comfort of another human being. Short of having Henry
back, there was
nothing she could do but wish that she no
longer had to be lonely. And although
she was trying to be
strong, her heart still wished to be held; to be unburdened
by the love of a friend.
