Tangent fingertips running softly against her jawline before meeting a
few strains of blonde hair and pushing them back a lift. Soft hazel eyes
fixing on hers and never leaving her gaze. Words making Henry’s
heart thump a little louder. N o b o t h e r f i g h t i n g w h o s a v e d
e a c h o t h e r m o r e. They had both saved each other, and that’s
what made their words collide and fit ever so perfectly as if their whole
life they were missing a simple puzzle piece. And too them, they were
those missing p u z z l e pieces for each other.
Eyes scanning her face as she was quick to hush him up, offering a
genuine smile. ❝As long as you don’t give up, I won’t either. It’s you
and I Teddy, and we’ve got one hell of a story together.❞

To even think that she could give up on him was abhorrent. She’d
spent a lifetime fighting with and for the man she loved, and the
faith Teddy had in him was abounding. Safe in Henry’s arms, it
was easy to believe that her bliss might last, but sooner or later
she’d always return to the darkness. Sighing, Teddy mumbled: “I
should get back to sleep. I have work.”
But she didn’t want to sleep. She didn’t want to leave his embrace
for a minute. He was her rubber ring when her fears had left her
drowning; her silence amidst the world’s cacophony — the only
time Teddy knew she’d make it through was when she was with
Henry. Voice quiet, she admitted: “I’m scared of the dreams.”
