It takes two || Owen & Teddy

owenhuntt:

A couple weeks ago she had called in a panic after losing her job and confiding in Owen that Henry was in a coma. Sure he had tried to help but ultimately, that was the end of it. She hadn’t called since and Owen often wondered what it was about and what she had ended up doing. He hadn’t seen her in a number of years and so many things had happened. His life being the way it was, Owen actually forgot about the phone call. He forgot about it up until he was in the grocery store without the kids. Owen had gotten the babysitter to watch the kids while he went out and ran errands. He was standing in the cereal isle, staring at the boxes wondering which ones the kids might want and how much sugar was in each. Owen glanced down the isle to look at some oatmeal when he caught sight of her. He was slightly hesitant to approach her but did it anyway. “Teddy?” Owen asked, furrowing his eyebrows.

Hearing her name, Teddy did a double take and dropped what she was holding back on the shelf. She turned and let her hair fall into her face before acknowledging Owen’s presence – “Oh, Owen. Hi.”

She was aware that she was in a better place than she was before, but it didn’t stop her from feeling violated because this man had seen her at her weakest. It was in an effort to forget that Teddy managed a feeble smile.
